In view of the holy month of Ramadan, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has abolished two weekly offdays for the slaughter and sale of meat and now it will be available in the market throughout seven days a week, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As per the notification issued by the food department on Monday, now the beef and mutton will also be available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

It was also stated in the notification that there would be no ban on the slaughter of animals and the sale of red meat during the holy month.

It is pertinent to mention here that barring Ramadan, the slaughter and sale of animals is completely banned on Tuesdays and partially banned on Wednesdays.

In Pakistan, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are often considered meat-free days due to cultural and religious influences. Many people in Pakistan, particularly those following Islamic dietary guidelines, choose to abstain from meat on certain days as a form of religious practice or to promote a balanced diet.
