The Matriculation examination has become a farce in Sindh as the board annual papers keep leaking despite tall claims of the authorities of Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Sindh regarding their efforts to rein in the cheating mafia. The rampant cheating in exams in different areas of Sindh including Karachi, Larkana, Sukkur, Ghotki, Nawabshah, Hyderabad, Sanghar and Kambar is putting a big question mark on the efficiency of the boards’ examination staff, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The Mathematics paper of Science group in Karachi was leaked on Wednesday before time. The paper was leaked at 9am. The mafia is fully active during the board exams. The Karachi board has been failed miserably to control the cheating trend. The Karachi Board chairman has claimed to rein in the mafia, but to no avail. 

Under the Larkana board, Chemistry exam of grade 9 was being held. The exam was commenced 15 minutes late. Again, the tradition of paper leaking was maintained. The boys and girl students kept busy copying from Whatsapp-released solved papers posts under the ‘vigilance’ of teachers. 

In Sukkur, Chemistry paper was viral on Whatsapp groups and cheating was at full throttle at examination halls. The inspection teams seemed to be hapless to control the cheating. 

In Ghotki, the Chemistry paper was out before time and the photocopies of the solved paper were available at the shops for Rs500. In examination halls of Dad Leghari, there was a rush of cheating mafia outside the exam centres and the mafia people were seen solving the paper even in nearby places. After solving the paper, the mafia people threw the pieces of solved questions inside the halls to give them to the female candidates. 

In Sanghar, the Chemistry paper was also leaked. As soon as the paper was out, the mafia machinery got into action. They uploaded solved paper on Whatsapp group and provided the photocopies to the shops for sale. 

The Chemistry paper of grade nine was leaked before time in Mehrabpur, Nawab Shah. It seems that leaking of papers and cheating in exam have become a routine affair. The board administration cut a sorry figure before the cheating mafia. 

It is reported that the cheating mafia is taking Rs 1,000 to Rs2,000 for the solved paper. After taking money, the mafia shares the solved paper on Whatsapp group.

In Kambar, the free and ubiquitous use of smart phones by students was again seen in the examination centres at Bago Dero High School during the Mathematics exam of grade 10. The students never minded the presence of invigilators and kept busy in cheating. As many as 99,000 students are taking matriculation exam under the Larkana board.

In Hyderabad, students of grade 10 were involved in cheating without any fear and threat of reprisal at different examination centres. They used mobile phones and continued solving the question paper with the help of Whatsapp group. 

Yesterday, Mathematics and Chemistry papers in Science group and Civics paper in General group were also leaked in Sindh. In Larkana, the Mathematics question paper was leaked before the exam. The cheating mafia released the paper on social media site, Whatsapp. The mafia posted the solved paper on Whatsapp group in 30 minutes. While, the Civics paper was shared by the cheating mafia on Whatsapp group in just 20 minutes. 

In the Education Board of Shaheed Benazirabad, the Mathematics papers was leaked yesterday on Whatsapp. Students sitting in the examination halls were seen solving the question paper with the help of their Whatsapp buddies and instructors.

On Monday, the Physics paper was leaked in Karachi and was posted on social media. During second shift, the Physics paper was not delivered to the examination halls of the metropolitan city and the exam was delayed for quite some time. Many students reached homes late after 9pm after taking their exam.

Karachi Chairman Matric Board Syed Sharaf Ali Shah announced on Tuesday to conduct General Group papers again after widespread cheating and paper leak during the written exams in Sindh. 

Chairman Matric Board said that the decision was taken as papers were not delivered to the examination centres due to ‘mismanagement’ in a few schools.

He said that once the ninth and tenth papers would conclude then a new date for retaking the exams would be announced.
