A man slew his sister and another man to save family ‘honour’ in Malir area of Karachi, police said on Saturday.

Sharif, son of Qaim Khan, killed Imamzadi and her fella Rashid Ali, the lawmen said adding that further investigations were underway. Imamzadi was the mother of a four-year-old girl and five-year-old boy.

According to human rights champions, violence against women and girls continues unabated in Pakistan where 1,000 such brutal murders take place every year.

On July 25, father and brother of Hina killed her and her husband Saleem in the name of ‘honour’. On July 21, a woman fell prey to ‘honour’ killing in Sheikhupura.

According to a report in February, 769 people, including 510 women, had been killed in five years in Sindh.

24NewsHD TV channel reported 25 women fell prey to ‘honour’ killing last year in Ghotki, which is notorious for karo-kari.
