Aurangzeb for laying focus on tackling climate, population challenges

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has emphasized the need for tackling the pressing challenges of climate change and population growth in order to unlock the country’s true potential, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking at the Pakistan Population Summit in Islamabad on Monday, he also called for reallocating resources to the sectors where they are most urgently needed.

Regarding the upcoming discussions on the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, the Finance Minister emphasized that progress would be made through consensus.

He highlighted that under the country partnership program, the Asian Development Bank will provide two billion dollars annually for the next ten years. He noted that four out of six agenda items in the partnership program focus on the critical issues of climate change and population. He stressed that it is our responsibility to develop and implement projects and initiatives to address these challenges.

The Finance Minister said that Pakistan will launch its first Skills Impact Bond in the coming days. He said it is aimed at enhancing the skills of the youth.
