Pakistan whitewash Australia in T20I series with crushing win in third match

Pakistan completed a dominant clean sweep of the Twenty20 series against Australia after securing a crushing 111-run victory in the third and final match of the three-match T20 International series at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Sunday. 

After winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat first and posted an imposing total of 207 runs, applying sustained pressure on the Australian bowling attack throughout the innings.

Australia’s reply faltered badly as they were bundled out for 96, unable to cope with Pakistan’s disciplined bowling.

Left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz produced a career-best performance, claiming five wickets for 18 runs to spearhead the collapse.

Shaheen Shah Afridi provided early breakthroughs with two wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah chipped in with one wicket each, ensuring Australia never recovered from the early setbacks.

For Australia, Cameron Green top-scored with 22, followed by Marcus Stoinis with 23, while Josh Philippe managed 14.

The rest of the batting line-up offered little resistance.

The emphatic victory sealed a 3-0 series whitewash for Pakistan.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha opted to bat first, a decision that paid off as the hosts posted 207 for six in their allotted 20 overs.

Pakistan leaned on solid contributions from Babar Azam and Saim Ayub to build a competitive total. 

Babar anchored the innings with a composed 50, providing stability in the middle order, while Saim Ayub matched him with an aggressive half-century at the top.

Shadab Khan added valuable late momentum with a brisk 46, strengthening Pakistan’s total after early fluctuations.

Elsewhere, Fakhar Zaman managed 10 runs, captain Salman Ali Agha was dismissed for five, and Khawaja Nafay contributed 21 as Pakistan rotated their batting options.

At the toss, captain Salman Ali Agha confirmed three changes to the side, bringing Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Nafay and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi into the final XI.
