Six die in Kot Addu house explosion

At least six people including women and children were killed when a powerful explosion rocked a house in Kot Addu in Muzaffargarh District on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Police and rescue teams were dispatched to the explosion site.

According to Rescue personnel, the blast took place inside a house in Dhaira Deen Panah area of Kot Addu in which three people were also injured.

Police and Rescue personnel were trying to determine the cause of the explosion.

Deputy superintendent of police said the explosion took place when the scrap and other used material were being sorted out inside the house.

As the bodies and the wounded persons were shifted to a hospital, the law enforcers started investigating the matter.

Punjab CM seeks report

Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has taken notice of the incident. He expressed grief over the loss of so many lives in the explosion.

The chief minister has sought a report from the IGP.

Meanwhile, Punjab IGP Dr Usman Anwar also took notice of the incident and directed RPO Dera Ghazi Khan to submit a report in this regard.

He also directed the concerned police officers to investigate the explosion from every agle.
