The first OLED gaming monitor by Samsung will be introduced at the IFA 2022 trade event in Berlin on September 2. The 34-inch, curvy, ultra-thin Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 Gaming Monitor (G85SB) has a 21:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440.

The monitor has several fascinating features that Samsung has emphasized, such as a 175 Hz maximum refresh rate, a 0.1ms response rate, and a width of just 3.9mm (0.15 inches) at its narrowest point. Moreover, approved by VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black, the monitor has 99.3% DCI-P3 color gamut.

The 34-inch curvy display has an 1800R curvature and combines Quantum Dot (QD) and OLED technology for exceptionally vibrant colors as well as OLED's famous rapid picture response and dense, deep black.

Due to the unique pixel illuminating properties of OLED displays, Samsung claims that the contrast ratio of the Odyssey OLED G8 is 1,000,000:1. This number is reframed by Samsung as a "near-infinite" contrast ratio.

Additionally, users of the Odyssey OLED G8 may enjoy the greatest entertainment, lifestyle, and gaming options in one convenient location. Even without a connectivity to a computer or mobile device, the display works as a full entertainment center with the capability to stream content through Samsung's Smart Hub, enabling access to the newest shows on Amazon Prime, Netflix, YouTube, and other major OTT (over-the-top) service providers. Additionally, Samsung TV Plus enables customers to access free live entertainment without having to download anything or register.

The integrated IoT hub enables users to easily check all IoT devices that are wirelessly linked to the monitor, and the SmartThings app enables easy IoT device monitoring across the home. The app's user-friendly control interface may assist with monitoring and modifying settings, including temperature and humidity.

Gamers would be able to enjoy their preferred games in ease with the Odyssey OLED G8. Any gamer can find the ideal position irrespective of what they are playing, whether it is a racing game or an open world fantasy adventure.

As per Samsung, the Odyssey OLED G8 will be available internationally from Q4 2022, but did not provide a precise date or price.
