Egypt's Al-Azhar University Thursday strongly condemned the despicable terrorist attack on worshipers at a Peshawar mosque in Pakistan.

In a statement, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif expressed its deep condemnation of the despicable terrorist bombing that targeted worshipers in a mosque in the city of Peshawar on Monday during Zuhr prayers; resulting in the death of dozens, and the injury of more than 150 worshipers.

Al-Azhar confirmed that attacking the safe worshipers and the houses of God and violating their sanctity; turning them into a killing field is a despicable criminal and terrorist act of corruption and mischief on the earth, committed only by the misguided who are stripped of the teachings of religion and moral and human values, and strive to spread fear and terror among people.

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif offered its sincere condolences to the Government and people of Pakistan and to the bereaved families, praying to the Almighty God to have mercy on the victims, to give their families patience and solace and to grant the injured a speedy recovery,
