Pakistan reports 1123 new coronavirus cases; 12 deaths
The coronavirus cases in Pakistan continued to show a surge as the country reported 1123 new coronavirus cases Monday in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.
There were 12 more causalities related to the deadly disease as death toll due to coronavirus has reached 6,835 that represents a ratio of 2.1%.
According to the figures, 1123 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours after conducting 27953 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 335,093 that returned positive after conducting 4486843 total tests so far.
The number of active cases in the country reached 13,242 with 707 patients in critical condition. There are 879 virus patients admitted to the hospitals for the treatment while 119 patients are on ventilators.
There were 461 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 315,016 with a 94% recovery rate.
Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 283 new cases in last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 104,554 with 4,718 active cases. The province reported three new virus-related deaths as death toll reaches 2,365. With 15 new recoveries, 97,471 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
The most affected province Sindh has once again recorded 480 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 146,331 with 4,921 active cases. The province reported four any new deaths as the death toll reached 2,631. With 110 new recoveries, 138,779 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 85 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 39,649 with 728 active cases. The province reported two new deaths as death toll reached 1,279. With 59 new recoveries, 37,642 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Balochistan has recorded another 34 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 15,954 with 234 active cases. The province reported no new virus-related death as the death toll remains at 151. With 16 new recoveries, 15,569 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Islamabad has recorded 119 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 20,089 with 1,658 active cases. No new death was reported in the Federal Capital as virus death toll remains at 222. With 150 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients reached at 18,209 in the federal capital so far.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 104 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 4,237 with 782 active cases. With three new deaths, the death toll reached 95. There were 111 new recoveries in the AJK as 3,360 patients have recovered so far from the virus.
Gilgit-Baltistan has recorded 18 new cases during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 4,279 with 201 active cases. With no new death reported in the province, the death toll remained at 92. There were no new recovered patients as well as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 3,986.
