National Forensic Agency becomes fully functional
Mohsin Naqvi visits state-of-the-art National Forensic Laboratory in Islamabad: Says it will extend support to all law-enforcement agencies
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Friday visited the state-of-the-art National Forensic Agency, which became fully functional after completion in record time, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During his visit, Mohsin Naqvi also examined the Research and Innovation Laboratory, Narcotics Laboratory, Digital Forensic Laboratory, Fintech Lab, Questionable Laboratory, firearms, DNA, serology, and expo saver rooms.
Mohsin Naqvi lauded the entire team who played a vital role to make the laboratory functional in record time.
The Interior Minister said that the establishment of the National Forensic Agency is a need of the hour today. He said that the National Forensic Laboratory will extend support to all law-enforcement agencies in all other provinces of the country.
The Interior Minister directed the establishment of its zonal offices in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit, and Baltistan.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the National Forensic Laboratory will provide its services as per the international standards.
He directed to advertise all the facilities and services available in the forensic laboratory so that all other institutions can benefit from it.
Mohsin Naqvi also visited the Mock Crime Unit and asked about the training of assistant sub-inspectors.
Director-General National Forensic Agency Hasnat Rasool, briefed the Interior Minister about the functions of the laboratory.
He informed Mohsin Naqvi that the first phase of the National Forensic Laboratory is already completed and offers services of Deep Fake Forensics, Computer and Mobile Forensics, Audio Video network, and Drone Forensics.
During the briefing, the DG said that the report of 100 digital forensic cases has already been compiled in one year, and work on phase 2 will start soon.
Director-General Anti-Narcotics Force, Director-General Federal Investigation Agency, Inspector-General of Police Islamabad and other high-ranking officials were also present on the occasion.
