New provinces only solution to tackle current challenges: Ex-minister
Punjab’s former local bodies minister, educationist, philanthropist, and technocrat Ibrahim Hassan Murad has said that the creation of new provinces is the need of the hour to solve current problems, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Ibrahim Hassan Murad said “It is not possible to deliver good governance in Rajanpur, which is 571 kilometers away from Lahore”.
He said “Ensuring effective governance in remote areas like Murree, located a five-and-a-half-hour journey from Lahore, poses a major administrative challenge.”
Ibrahim Murad said that the United States has 50 states for a population of 320 million, while Iran has 31 provinces for a population of 90 million.

These administrative units will foster better governance, economic balance, and national unity.
He suggested that all political parties should rise above personal interests and adopt a unanimous course of action in the national interest.
Ibrahim Murad said that the creation of new provinces can make the equitable distribution of resources and budgets possible
Small and effective administrative units will pave the way for reduced corruption, better oversight, and rapid development.
