Momin Ali Munshi names actors he believes deserve more recognition
Entertainment journalist and host Momin Ali Munshi has shared his views on some of Pakistan's most underrated actors.
He said several talented performers are not receiving the recognition and opportunities they deserve.
Speaking during a discussion, Momin said there are many actors in the industry whose talent is often overlooked despite consistently delivering strong performances.
Among female actors, he described Sonya Hussyn as a "phenomenal actress" and said she is "criminally underrated."
While acknowledging that Sonya continues to secure acting projects, he argued that she is not celebrated on the same level as stars such as Sajal Aly, Saba Qamar and Yumna Zaidi despite possessing comparable talent.
He also praised Hajra Yamin, calling her a phenomenal performer who is limited to supporting or character roles instead of being cast as a leading actor.
Discussing male actors, Momin singled out Haris Waheed and Usama Khan and described both as highly capable performers who have consistently impressed audiences with their work.
Concluding his remarks, Momin said he believes these actors are often confined to a particular space within the industry and are prevented from receiving the lead roles and wider recognition their talent merits.
