The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Saturday issued an advisory for pilgrims travelling to the Kingdom.

Umrah visas cannot be used to perform Haj, the ministry reminded, adding that June 4 is the last day for Umrah visa holders' arrival.

Umrah pilgrims must depart on June 18, states the advisory.

Reportedly more than 4,000 housing permits have been issued, and more than 19,000 buses have been prepared for the purpose. This year, authorities emphasized that pilgrims who want to perform Hajj must be vaccinated against COVID-19.

In April, the Ministry of Haj and Umrah said the vaccination deadline was 10 days before the start of the Haj season, and that pilgrims must have all three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine to obtain the Hajj permit.

Vaccinations against seasonal influenza and meningococcal meningitis have also been included. Other vaccinations required for those coming from outside Saudi Arabia include yellow fever and polio.
