Another earthquake strikes Karachi

In the early hours of the Wednesday morning, residents of Karachi experienced mild tremors as an earthquake struck the city once again, reported 24NewsHD TV.

According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake occurred at exactly 2:08 AM and registered a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale, indicating a relatively minor seismic event.

The earthquake had a depth of 31 kilometers, which classifies it as a shallow earthquake — such tremors are often felt more strongly at the surface, even if their magnitude is low. Despite the modest intensity, many residents in various parts of the city, particularly those in high-rise buildings, reported feeling the tremors.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 25 kilometers southeast of DHA (Defence Housing Authority), a prominent residential and commercial area of Karachi. The seismological authorities are closely monitoring the situation, although no immediate reports of damage to property or injuries have been received so far.
