Pakistanis may enjoy WEEK-LONG EID HOLIDAYS 

Pakistanis may get an extended break for Eidul Fitr 2025, with speculations suggesting a possible nine-day holiday from March 29 to April 6.

According to the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, Eidul Fitr is expected to fall on March 31, as the Shawwal crescent moon is likely to be visible on the evening of March 30.

Experts predict that the moon will be over 26 hours old by then, meeting the criteria for visibility across most regions of Pakistan.

Given that the first three days of Eid are traditionally public holidays, a government announcement of an official holiday from March 29 (Saturday) to April 2 (Wednesday) is anticipated. If additional leave is granted on April 3 and 4 (Thursday and Friday), the holiday could stretch to nine days, including the weekends.

The final decision on the holiday schedule will be subject to official moon sighting announcements and government approval. However, many Pakistanis are hopeful for an extended festive break, allowing them to travel and celebrate Eid with their families across the country.
