Gold prices continue record-breaking spree with another huge increase
The gold prices continued their record-breaking spree in Pakistani markets Thursday as the yellow metal got to shine in the international market.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, considered a safe haven for investors in times of economic turmoil, the yellow metal is almost going out of reach for the majority of Pakistan masses as it saw another huge increase of Rs2,600 per tola.
According to the All Pakistan Jewellers Association, the price of 24-Karat pure gold reached an all-time high of Rs2,25,300 per tola after seeing an increase of Rs2,600.
Similarly, the price for 10 grams of 24-Karat gold reached Rs1,93,158 after seeing an increase of Rs2,229.
The price of 10 grams of 22-Karat gold, used in making the jewellery, reached Rs1,77,062 per 10 grams.
In the international market, gold prices increased by US$29 per ounce to US$2,044 per ounce.
The price of pure silver of 24 karats also increased by Rs120 per tola to Rs2,870 per tola in the local market while the price of 10 grams of silver of 24 karats also reached at Rs2357.68 per 10 grams.
