Pakistan reports third polio case of this year

Pakistan’s third poliovirus case of this year has been detected in Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

A one-and-a-half-year-old girl, infected with poliovirus in Ghoda Baka Khel Union Council of Bannu district, was crippled., taking this year’s tally to three.

The three Pakistani children, affected by poliovirus this year, belong to Bannu district.

Poliovirus has also been detected in the environmental sample of Bannu district.

So far, poliovirus has been detected in 34 environmental samples in Pakistan, the federal authorities said.
