The visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Pakistan has been rescheduled and the new date for the visit will be announced soon, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing made the announcement about the postponement of Chinese President’s visit.

Talking to newsmen in Islamabad, the Chinese ambassador said that the Chinese government is very much satisfied with the pace of work on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). “Both the friendly countries are also well aware of the threats to the CPEC. However both Pakistan and China will thwart anti-CPEC designs of the enemies,” he added.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan had invited President Xi Jinping to a visit of Pakistan this year but it was reschedules due to the coronavirus pandemic. “Both the governments are now working a new date for the visit which will be announced soon,” the Chinese envoy said.

Yao Jing said CPEC is a project of progress of both Pakistan and China and the negative forces cannot stop them from cooperation in this regard. “Despite challenges due to coronavirus pandemic the work on CPEC projects from both sides is in full swing,” he added.

“The steps taken by both Islamabad and Beijing to meet the challenges are praiseworthy,” he said.

The Chinese envoy said Chinese business community in cooperation with Pakistan wants to start joint ventures in agriculture sector.
