Sid Rapper backs Rajab Butt, calls out YouTuber award nominations
Pakistani content creator and TikToker Sid Rapper has stirred debate online after questioning the nomination list of the Sunday Special Icon Awards, arguing that one of Pakistan's most-watched YouTubers, Rajab Butt, was unfairly left out of the Best YouTuber category.
Took to his Instagram handle, Sid shared a video featuring himself expressing his disappointment over the nominations announced for the awards, particularly the omission of Rajab Butt from the YouTuber category.
Sharing his opinion, Sid said:
"I was watching the Sunday Special Icon Awards and looking at the nominations for Best YouTuber. We all know who the top trending YouTuber in Pakistan is right now it's Rajab Butt. His name wasn't even there. The other nominees are doing good work too, but at least nominate the person who's at the top. It feels like they didn't nominate him because everyone knows he would probably win. The public already knows he's the lion."
Rajab Butt is currently among Pakistan's most-followed digital creators, with millions of subscribers across YouTube and a massive following on other social media platforms. He is widely known for his family vlogs, lifestyle content, and challenge videos, making him one of the country's biggest online personalities.
Sid Rapper's comments quickly gained traction online, with social media users offering divided reactions. Many agreed with his stance, saying Rajab Butt deserved at least a nomination based on his popularity and viewership.
Others, however, argued that award nominations should also consider the quality of content and a creator's public image rather than subscriber count alone. Some users criticized Rajab Butt's content style and past controversies, saying popularity should not be the only criterion for recognition.
