15th National Junior Snooker Championship begins in Karachi

The 15th National Junior Snooker Championship is underway at the Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, Karachi, where young players from across the country are competing in the Under-17 and Under-21 categories, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday. 

The championship has attracted emerging snooker talent from all provinces, providing junior players with a national platform to demonstrate their skills and gain competitive exposure.

President of the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA), Abdul Qadir Memon, said the event aims to groom young talent and prepare players to represent Pakistan at international competitions.

Participants expressed enthusiasm over competing at the national level.

Two brothers taking part in the championship said it was an honor to play in a national event, adding that they began their snooker journey at a small local club and credited their father’s encouragement for their progress.

According to officials, 11 players are competing in the Under-17 category, while 16 players are participating in the Under-21 category.

The Under-17 matches will continue from January 5 to January 7, while Under-21 matches will be held from January 8 to January 10.
