PM Shehbaz forms committee to tackle corruption

In an important development after the International Monetary Fund (IMF) declared corruption a permanent challenge for Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday constituted a committee on anti-corruption and anti-money laundering, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The 15-member committee, headed by Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, will also comprise secretary interior, law secretary, secretary finance, secretary IT, DG FIA, DG NAB, DG ANF, SECP chairman, CCP chairman, DG Financial Monitoring Unit, DG Federal Judicial Academy, a representative of Pakistan Virtual Regulatory Authority, member FBR, DGs Anti-Corruption Establishment and DG AML.

According to the sources, DG AML will also act as secretary of the committee while National AML and CFT Authority Secretariat will provide support to the committee.
