PPP observes Black Day against martial law on July 5th in 1977

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) District Larkana has organised a programme called ‘Salam Quaid Awam’ at the mausoleum of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, in protest against the imposition of martial law in the country on July 5th, 1977, and to pay tribute to the leader of the people, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday. 
The local leadership of the PPP participated in the ceremony at the Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto mausoleum. 
Workers visited the mausoleum of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, laid wreath of flowers and recited Fateha. 
Workers also visited the mausoleums of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and other martyrs, laid wreath of flowers and recited Fateha.
Meanwhile, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon in his message on the occasion of July 5 said July 5, 1977 is a black day in history, the people's right to rule was bloodshed. 
Sharjeel Inam Memon said the undemocratic act of July 5 had a profound negative impact on politics, society and national development. 
Today is a day of renewing the commitment to constitutional supremacy, democratic continuity and protecting the people's right to vote, Sharjeel Inam Memon said.
Martyr Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto waged a historic struggle for democracy, the constitution and the rights of the people, Sharjeel Inam Memon added.
He said the political struggle of Shaheed Bhutto and Shaheed Bibi is an important chapter in the history of the promotion of democratic values in Pakistan. 
Sharjeel Inam Memon said the bitter lessons of the past teach us that the path to national stability and development passes through democracy, the constitution and the rule of law.

The Pakistan People's Party has always been a champion of the constitution, democracy and the rights of the people Has been, Sharjeel Inam Memon said.
He said People’s Party leaders and workers have made unprecedented sacrifices to protect democratic values.
