SHO shot dead by police in Shikarpur

A Station House Officer (SHO), Ali Hassan Jatoi, breathed his last in hospital after receiving bullet wounds in Shikarpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The incident occurred near Phatak No. 2, near the tehsil of Lakhi Ghulam Shah in Shikarpur.

Police said that due to a misunderstanding, the Lakh Ghulam Shah police had signalled to stop the SHO's private car.

When the SHO failed to stop his car, the police team opened fire on his car. After which, the SHO became seriously injured, and was immediately rushed to the hospital, but died in the hospital.

Soon after the incident, Incharge Jahan Khan, Police Post Javed Bilali escaped from the scene along with his accomplices.

Later, the police team recovered identification papers and other evidence from the crime scene.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kaleem Malik said that an inquiry committee is already constituted under the supervision of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Asif, which started investigations.
