PTA zero-rates Punjab Safe app

In view of flood situation in Punjab, Punjab Safe app has been zero-rated, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

The app will now work even if there is no balance or internet package in the mobile and with zero-rating, the app will provide all facilities to the public in an emergency. 

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has ordered zero-rating of Punjab Safe app on all mobile networks.

In difficult situations, people will be able to get help directly on helpline 15 after the decision.

Punjab Safe app will provide immediate guidance to the public in natural disasters and floods.

The app will enable immediate access to rescue and other institutions.

Earlier, the Punjab government had directed mobile companies to zero-rate by yesterday.

The aim of the measure is to provide timely assistance to citizens in the affected areas.

Access to rescue teams will now be possible without any additional cost.
