PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Wednesday that the protest held yesterday (August 5) remained successful as people came out on the streets to raise their voice for the release of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the media at the Parliament House, he said protest demonstrations were held across Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

“We are a peaceful people. We protested peacefully yesterday. By taking to the streets, the people showed their loyalty towards Imran Khan.”

Gohar said that despite the fact that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) did not have the power to issue a direct notification, it still issued the notifications for the disqualification of three opposition leaders. “We will take the election commission to a court,” the PTI chairman announced.

He lamented that the ECP did not listen to the PTI’s point of view and went ahead with the disqualification of its legislators. “We will not make any replacements for our three leaders of the opposition,” he said categorically.
