Four dead as residents clash with gunmen in Quetta

Four people lost their lives when a clash erupted between armed men and residents in the Hina Orak area of Quetta, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Balochistan Minister for Health Bakht Mohammad Kakar said the condition of an injured man is critical. All the injured persons were immediately shifted to the Trauma Center in Quetta.

Soon after receiving the report, contingents of Frontier Constabulary (FC), police, and other law enforcement agencies are present in the area.

The local residents later staged a protest against the attack and death of four people by holding a sit-in at Airport Road.

The provincial minister said that locals are standing shoulder to shoulder with the security forces; together, they will confront the terrorists.

He further said that keeping in view the current situation, an emergency is declared in all the government hospitals.

Later, Provincial Minister Mir Ziaullah Langu held talks with the local tribesmen and the protesting people. He expressed his heartfelt sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of tribal men.

He also visited the native areas of Kahna and Orak and reviewed the security situation. The Provincial Home Minister assured the delegation that a joint post of law enforcement agencies will be established in the area.

He said that directives were issued for the provision of all necessary arms and items in this regard.
