June 6, 2022 08:33 PM

Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) on Monday hinted at a further increase in poultry prices, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the association, prices will continue to rise until the government abolishes taxes on raw materials used in poultry.

According to Chairman Pakistan Poultry Association Northern Region Dr Abdul Karim, the cost of poultry farms has tripled.

He said to reduce prices, the government should abolish taxes on food and raw poultry, adding that a 30 to 35 five percent tax is levied on raw chicken.

According to Poultry Association, no new farms have been set up in the last four years due to which there is a difference between supply and demand, adding that 10 to 15 percent of the farms have closed due to deficits.
