Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Pakistan is the biggest victim of terrorism and has been fighting on the frontline against it, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking to the media at Parliament House in Islamabad on Thursday, Khawaja Asif emphasized that Pakistan has always stood firm against terrorism.

Responding to questions about Pakistan’s role in assisting arrest of Afghan terrorist Sharifullah, Asif stated, “Pakistan has fulfilled its international responsibility by arresting and handing over the terrorist.”

He further remarked that if the United States or the international community appreciates Pakistan’s efforts, it is because this is a shared war against terrorism, and all stakeholders must contribute.

On a different note, Khawaja Asif took a swipe at US foreign policy, stating “America changes sides in every war,” hinting at its shifting alliances over time.

Addressing political matters, the defence minister accused PTI of attacking Islamabad multiple times and preparing for another assault after Eid.

“PTI has carried out three to four attacks on Islamabad. Now, they are planning another attack after Eid. And yet, some still believe in reconciliation politics?” he questioned.

He firmly stated that reconciliation is possible only when the opposing side is not attacking. “When the other side is on the offensive, then resistance is the only way forward,” he added.
