Bakery items ‘too hot to touch’

Amid the rising petrol, electricity and sugar rates, the prices of bakery items, which are essential in every household, have also increased by R5 to 15 per item, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The price of bread (large) reached Rs130 per piece after an increase of Rs10 while bread (small) have been increased by Rs5 and reached Rs70 in the market.

While eggs per dozen are being sold at Rs180.

Prices of rusk, bread, paratha, buns, and cake rusk are also increased by Rs10 to Rs15 per item.

Citizens talking to 24News TV channel urged the authorities to control the prices especially of such essential commodities.
