Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan Saturday cast his ‘sample vote’ to rely on the electronic voting machines (EVMs) in a future election to make them more credible and transparent.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the PM who was determined to hold next polls through digital voting cast his phony vote just to check the performance of the EVMs physically in Islamabad.
The PM was given a briefing on the process and the performance of the EVMs before casting his vote to check the accuracy of the machines.
During the briefing, Federal Minister Shibli Faraz assured the PM that the EVMs were ready and there could be no tampering in it.
The federal minister informed the PM that they had made high standard software of the machine and it had no need of internet.
The Prime Minister congratulated the team that developed the machine.
On the direction of the PM, the Ministry of Science and Technology has also decided to inspect the voting machine for the members of Parliament and all four provincial assemblies of the country.
