A policemen was martyred and two of his colleagues were injured in a terrorist attack on a patrol team on in Peshawar late Sunday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Farid Khan and two constables Yar Muhammad and Ghulam Hussain sustained injuries when unidentified terrorists opened fire on their patrol vehicle on Afridi Road in suburban Badaber area of the KP provincial capital.

The injured cops were rushed to a hospital where Constable Yar Muhammad succumbed to his wounds.

Officials said heavy contingent of police rushed to the crime scene and conducted a search operation in the area.
