Online Hajj registrations top 250,000 mark

The online Hajj registration drive is continuing successfully across the country, and the number of registered intending pilgrims has exceeded 250,0000 within 15 days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The registration process can be completed easily through the Hajj Portal or the "Pak Hajj" mobile application.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs said that 12,880 intending pilgrims registered themselves online from their homes yesterday 

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has indicated that Hajj dues will also be collected online in the next phase.

The Hajj Management System, developed by the National IT Board, has become an easy means of communication between Hajj pilgrims and the Ministry.

As many as 187,000 intending pilgrims applied for the government quota, and 63,000 selected the private Hajj scheme. The registered Hajj pilgrims include 3,000 PhDs, 45,000 master's, and 60,000 bachelor's.
