Federal budget allocates Rs26.73b for Balochistan development projects

The federal government has decided to allocate Rs 26.73 billion for various development projects in Balochistan in the upcoming 2025–26 federal budget, according to official documents reviewed by 24NewsHD TV on Saturday.

According to the documents, several major infrastructure initiatives have been proposed, with emphasis on road connectivity, education, and urban safety, particularly in Gwadar and southern Balochistan.

Key Proposed Allocations:

Rs 1 billion for the Dargai Shabozai to Taunsa Sharif Road project.

Rs 500 million for the Duki to Chamalang Road development.

Rs 700 million for the construction of flyovers in Quetta.

Rs 2 billion allocated for the Panjgur–Jichak–Awaran Road project.

Rs 1.5 billion for the Baleda to Prom Road.

Rs 700 million for the Nag to Jichak Road.

Rs 7.5 billion allocated for the Gwadar Safe City Project, aimed at enhancing urban security infrastructure.

Rs 2 billion is proposed for the Turbat to Mand Road.

Rs 2.5 billion for the construction of a terminal at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Rs 2 billion for the Sui to Kashmore Road.

Rs 800 million for building a Daanish School in Sohbatpur.

These proposed developments are part of the federal government’s effort to uplift Balochistan’s infrastructure and improve socio-economic conditions in the region.

The focus on strategic roads and border connectivity is also seen as a move to enhance national integration and trade facilitation, especially in light of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The final budget is expected to be announced in the National Assembly after the Eid holidays.
