Five dreaded dacoits killed in police encounters in Gujranwala

Five notorious dacoits were killed in three police encounters in different parts of Gujranwala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Two dacoits, wanted by the police in connection with dozens of cases of dacoity, robbery, theft and murdering people, were killed by their own accomplices in the jurisdiction of Wahandu police station.

The slain dacoits were identified as Muhammad Shahzad and Abid Ali and cases had been registered against them in Gujranwala, Kasur and Nankana district.

Similarly, in Gakhar Mandi area, two dacoits, involved in over 25 incidents of dacoity, robbery and theft, were also killed by the firing of their own accomplices.

The deceased were identified as Ameer Hamza and Nadeem Masih.

Besides Gujranwala, they had also been nominated in FIRs registered in Lahore.

Likewise, a most-wanted dacoit, Salahuddin alias Kaku, who was involved in dozens of incidents of robbery, dacoity, theft and attacking police personnel, was also killed by the firing of his accomplices in the jurisdiction of Girja Ghar police station.

CPO takes notice

On the other hand, CPO Dr. Sardar Ghayas Gul Khan has taken notice of the presence of these outlaws and sought a report from divisional SPs.

He has also constituted special police teams for the arrest of absconding dacoits.

In compliance with his instructions, police have set up checkpoints at different points in Gujranwala division.
