Pakistan reports 140 more deaths; 4,298 new coronavirus cases

Another 140 people succumbed to coronavirus in the past 24 hours (Thursday) as the death toll due to coronavirus has reached 18,677 that represents a ratio of 2.2%, the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.
The positivity ratio of coronavirus cases in Pakistan was 9.58 percent as 4,298 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 44,846 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 850,131 that returned positive after conducting 12,101,832 total tests so far.
The number of active cases in the country is 83,699 with 5,177 patients in critical condition.
There were 4,631 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 747,755 with an 88% recovery rate.
Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 1,995 new cases in the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 314,517 with 40,979 active cases. In Punjab, 82 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 8,891. With 2,092 new recoveries, 264,647 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
Sindh has recorded 966 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 289,646 with 17,424 active cases. With seven new deaths related to the deadly disease, the death toll in Sindh reached 4,698. With 806 new recoveries, 267,524 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 792 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 122,520 with 10,521 active cases. The province reported 40 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 3,537. With 1,092 new recoveries, 108,462 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Balochistan has recorded another 116 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 23,016 with 1,412 active cases. The province reported three new deaths as the death toll reached 243. With 95 new recoveries, 21,361 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Islamabad has recorded 349 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 77,414 with 11,188 active cases. With three new deaths reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 702. With 455 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 65,524 in the federal capital so far.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 77 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 17,660 with 2,063 active cases. With five new deaths reported, the death toll reached 499. There were 87 new recoveries in the AJK as 15,098 patients have recovered so far from the virus.
Gilgit-Baltistan recorded three new cases during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached at 5,358 with 112 active cases. No new death reported in the province as the death toll remains at 107. There were six new recoveries reported as well as number of patients recovered from the deadly disease reaches 5,139.
