Pakistan Railways set to digitize revenue collection system

Pakistan Railways is set to fully digitize its revenue collection system, marking a major step toward modernization and transparency.

An agreement to this effect was signed between Pakistan Railways and the National Police Foundation in Islamabad today.

Under the agreement, Pakistan Railways' system will be made more efficient, transparent and user friendly. Passengers will now be able to conveniently purchase tickets through ATMs, mobile apps, internet banking, bank branches, NADRA e-Sahulat centers, debit cards, and QR codes.

Under this new system, the State Bank of Pakistan and 1LINK will transfer funds directly to the national treasury three times a day.

1LINK is a consortium of forty banks that will streamline the payment process across the network. Speaking on the occasion, the Railways Minister termed this initiative as a milestone in the history of Pakistan Railways and a true example of the Prime Minister's vision for a cashless economy.

 He said the cashless system will make the payment process more transparent, efficient, and faster. Hanif Abbasi modern facilities are being introduced for the public through collaboration with the National Police Foundation, State Bank of Pakistan, One Link, and FinNet.
