Four notorious dacoits surrender to police in Khairpur

Four most-wanted dacoits of the Katcha area surrendered to Khairpur police during a joint operation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

These dacoits were later identified as Abdul Jabbar Narejo, Abdul Ghaffar Narejo, Ata Mohammad Narejo, and Abdul Samad Narejo.

Police said that they wanted these dacoits in more than 50 cases, encounter with police, extortion, murder, attempted murder, and other criminal cases.

Police said that these dacoits were involved in the killing of many police personnel.

Talking on the occasion, Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) of Police Nasir Aftab said that “Nijat Mehran Operation” will continue till the restoration of complete peace in the area.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samiullah Soomro said that the police are determined to take every measure to provide security and establish peace in the area.

Earlier on February 4, 2026, three dacoits surrendered in the Kacha region of southern Punjab, bringing the total to 144, including 12 high-profile criminals carrying government-announced head money worth over Rs120 million. 

The wave of surrenders marks a breakthrough in law enforcement's crackdown on organised crime in the riverine belt during the past month.
