A delegation of media persons Wednesday paid a visit to the City News Network Headquarters in Lahore and greeted the admin and workers on restoration of 24News transmission.
The visitors, including former PFUJ president Afzal Butt, secretary Nasir Zaidi, RIUJ Secretary Asif Ali Bhati and PUJ President Qamar Bhatti, reiterated their resolve to continue standing by their colleagues in the need of the hour.
The delegates took round of various sections of the network and praised state-of-the-art technology being used for information dissemination. They also lauded the workers for showing professional skills to cope with the challenge of modern info industry needs.
Renewing their pledge to stand firm for safeguarding the rights of media workers, they said they would continue fight for their colleagues’ rights from the frontline. They took swipe at the government for muzzling the media.
Speaking on the occasion, Zaidi raised the demand for an amnesty scheme the government announced for traders and industrialists. He insisted the authorities should offer a media relief package instead of mounting pressure on the media so that livelihood of thousands of media workers could be saved.
