Govt orders fresh transfers and postings

The federal government has taken a series of key administrative decisions concerning the civil bureaucracy, including modifying the disciplinary punishment of a Grade-19 officer in compliance with a Supreme Court order, notifying the retirement of two senior officers and issuing transfer and posting orders for several officials.

According to separate notifications issued by the Establishment Division, the minor penalty of withholding the promotion of Naseem Ahmed Khan, a Grade-19 Deputy Secretary of the Secretariat Group, for one year has been converted into a "censure" in light of the Supreme Court of Pakistan's order dated May 12, 2026.

With the implementation of the court's decision, the punishment of withholding promotion has been withdrawn, while only the censure will remain on the officer's service record.

In separate notifications, the Establishment Division announced the retirement of two senior officers on attaining the age of superannuation.

Samina A. Hassan, a Grade-22 officer of the Secretariat Group serving as Executive Director of the National Institute of Population Studies, will retire on December 20, 2026, upon attaining the age of 60 years.

Similarly, Nazar Jamil, a Grade-20 officer of the Secretariat Group serving as Joint Secretary in the Human Rights Division, will retire on December 29, 2026.

Meanwhile, the government also issued transfer and posting orders for a number of officers.

According to the notifications, Waqas Ali Khan, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as Section Officer in the Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Division. Maryam Malik has been posted as Section Officer in the Finance Division, while Faizal Naeem has been appointed as Section Officer in the Establishment Division.

In another administrative decision, Khadija Hassan, a lecturer serving under the Azad Jammu and Kashmir government, has been transferred and posted to the Federal Directorate of Education.

The Establishment Division issued official notifications to implement all the appointments, transfers, retirements and disciplinary decisions.
