Two children drown while bathing in Tarbela Lake

In a heartbreaking incident in Haripur, four children who had come for a recreational visit to Tarbela Lake at Chakhaai on Chhappar Road met with tragedy while bathing on Sunday. 

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the children were swimming in the lake when two of them went too far and drowned in water reportedly around 10 feet deep.

Local residents acted swiftly and managed to rescue two of the children alive from the lake. However, the remaining two could not be saved. Skilled local divers recovered the bodies of the deceased children after an extensive search effort.

The children who lost their lives in the drowning incident have been identified as Arsalan and Ahmed. Both belonged to the village of Malkiar in the Haripur district.

Local community members, operating on a self-help basis, managed to retrieve the bodies and transported them to the Trauma Centre. .
