An Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi has decided to hear future case hearings of arrested MNA Ali Wazir and other Pasthun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leaders in the Central Jail Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Ali Wazir was arrested from Peshawar by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police but later handed over to Karachi Police on charges of hate speech.
He and other PTM leaders have been held in a case of inciting the public and using obscene language against the national institutions.
According to sources, the cases registered against Ali Wazir will now be heard in the anti-terrorism cell in the Central Jail instead of Clifton.
The decision has been made as, according to the authorities, any untoward incident may take place amid hearing of the case at ATC Clifton. The authorities decided to hear the case at the court set up in the Karachi Central Jail.
Peshawar Police on December 16 arrested Ali Wazir and took him to MPAs hostel over his controversial statements in public rallies. Ali Wazir is accused of controversial speeches given in the Miran Shah public gathering held by the PTM.
