Pre-monsoon rainy spell may begin from second week of June.

As per Indian media report, by June 10, the monsoon usually covers large parts of Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh but this year, it has so far covered most parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and south interior Karnataka and covered almost all of northeast India.

There is almost a 5-7 days delay in the progress of the monsoon and presently in a weak mode in India.

Both countries this year, experienced prolonged heatwaves and dry spells and extreme temperatures since March.

Pakistan Met Office has predicted pre-monsoon rains in the twin cities—Islamabad and Rawalpindi—from next week and this will bring down the temperature and provide relief to people from the heatwave that has gripped the region for the last few days.

In Karachi, the temperature as recorded at 31 degree Celsius and maximum it could go up to 34 to 36 degree Celsius.

On Wednesday, weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country, however, light rain occurred in Gupis and Kalam.

Rainfall (mm): Gilgit-Baltistan: Gupis 01 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Kalam 01.

Wednesday’s Highest Maximum Temperature’s (°C): Sibbi, Jacobabad, Dadu, Larkana, Mohenjodaro, Nurpur Thal 48, Shaheed Benazirabad, Bhakkar, DI Khan and Jhelum 47.
