PML-N lawmaker Javed Hasnain has introduced a bill to get rid of 'Lotacray', shifting allegiance from one loyalty to another, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to Hasnain, this bill is very important for strengthening democracy. A turncoat should be barred from taking part in elections for seven years, the lawmaker stated.
Although the government rejected the bill, it was sent to the committee concerned as it got 117 votes in favour and 104 against. Former NA speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq greeted Javed Hasnain on getting winning votes.
"Congratulations to Javed Hasnain. Today, the opposition has got success. Morally, the government should resign now," the former NA speaker said.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi reacted to Ayaz Sadiq’s statement, saying: "I reject Ayaz Sadiq's words' Qureshi joined the PTI and abandoned the PPP in November 2011.
