Federal Board increases passing mark from 33pc to 40pc
In a major policy shift, Federal Board Islamabad has increased passing mark from 33 percent to 40 percent and new policy will be implemented from annual examinations 2026, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
Policy change will be applicable to matriculation and intermediate students. The increase in passing marks was made to align with international standards. The decision was taken after consultation with the Inter-Board Coordination Commission.
From 2027, the policy will also be applicable to the second part of Matric and Inter. Federal Board officials said new policy is an initiative to bring students towards conceptual understanding instead of the rote system.
