Gohar Ejaz leaves on China visit

A Pakistani delegation headed by Commerce Minister Gohar Ejaz left for China with the mission to increase the country’s exports to $100 billion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

During his visit, Commerce Minister Gohar Ejaz will meet with Chinese investors and industrialists along with his delegation including Muhammad Ali Taba, Fawad Ahmad Mukhtar, Aamir Fayyaz Sheikh, Mian Ahsan, Shehzad Malik, Ahsan Bashir and Abdul Rahim Nasir.

Gohar Ijaz says that Pakistan has a large trade volume with China as Pakistan imports goods worth 20 billion dollars from China annually while sells only 2 billion dollars worth of goods to China.

The government has prepared proposals to increase the country's exports in 3 months, he said.

The Minister said that the biggest potential for increasing the country's exports is seen in China and Pakistan has to reduce its trade deficit.

He said Textile and Non-Textile Advisory Council has prepared its recommendations while suggestions of food and agriculture exporters have also come out and the proposals of the exporters have been evaluated.

Gohar Ejaz said that 20 major exporters of the Advisory Council are visiting China, markets and partners are to be found for Pakistani exporters.

He said that Pakistan can get out of economic problems by increasing trade with China and it can solve all problems by reducing the trade deficit.
