PML-N senators react to CJP remarks 

The senators from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) during a session have registered their reaction to the remarks made by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial yesterday, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

The CJP had made the remarks in a case that had no relation to elections and he said the parliament was incomplete, Irfan Siddiqui reacted, adding that the top court called one prime minister honest

The senator said: "Whatever the judiciary will say, we will follow it. The judiciary has a parameter but it has started transgressing. Our legislation are challenged.

 “What if we make such remarks about the judges that there was only one honest judge? How did he say that Parliament has become controversial?”

He said the CJP was neither the people’s representative nor the Pakistan Army’s’ and such statements are an attack on Parliament’s prestige.

“This Parliament is the people’s representative; let the representative do its job. Has Parliament or the prime minister ever created an obstacle in any judicial decision?

Another PML-N lawmaker Sadia Abbasi said: “Remarks have come from the Supreme Court for the past two to three days. They should clarify what their stance is.”

She added it was equivalent to violating Parliament’s democracy.
