An anti-corruption court in Lahore on Thursday granted bail to former deputy speaker of Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Khan Mazari, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The court ordered Dost Mazari’s release while directing him to submit two surety bonds of Rs100,000 each.

The court had earlier reserved its ruling on the bail application of Dost Mazari who was facing charges of illegally occupying the government land.

Anti-Corruption Court Judge Khalid Mahmood Bhatti conducted the proceedings.

Dost’s lawyer told the court that the charges were fake as his client was being politically victimized. “My client was accused of stealing the land record while the Anti-Corruption Establishment has this record,” he added.
