Former COAS Gen (r) Qamar Javed Bajwa injured

Former Chief of Army Staff General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa was injured after falling at his residence early Tuesday morning and was subsequently shifted to a hospital for treatment, 24NewsHD TV reported.  

According to the sources close to the family, the retired general fell in the washroom of his home at around 4:30 am, sustaining injuries to multiple parts of his body.

He was immediately taken to a hospital in Rawalpindi for medical care.

Family sources said he suffered a head injury and is currently under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where doctors are closely monitoring his condition.

General (Retd) Bajwa served as Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff from 2016 until November 2022.

He was appointed to the position by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and later received a three-year extension in tenure during the government of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

No official statement has yet been issued regarding the circumstances of the incident or the severity of his injuries.
