23 more terrorists eliminated in ongoing Operation Shaban in Balochistan

Operation Shaban, being conducted jointly by Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and the police in Balochistan, is going great guns as in latest action taken by the security forces against the Tehreek-Taliban Pakistan and other outfits, 23 more militants have been killed, thus bringing the total number of militants killed to 102, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Sources told the 24News TV channel that ground and airstrikes were carried out against the militants hiding in rugged mountainous terrain of the province. They disclosed that ever since the start of the Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations on July 5, 88 militants had been eliminated.

According to security sources, two terrorists affiliated with 'Fitna-al-Hind' were killed during an operation  near the N-25 crossing in Balochistan. During the operation, weapons, hand grenades, a motorcycle, mobile phones, flags of a banned organization, and other items were recovered from the terrorists' possession.

Security sources said a total of 102 Khawarij have been killed since 5th of this month in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations.

Security forces remain determined to continue Operation Shaban until the complete elimination of the last terrorist from Balochistan. Sources said that the operation would continue till the elimination of last terrorist.

The operation was initiated following a deadly militant attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station and aimed to eliminate proxy militant networks in the rugged mountainous regions. The security forces had eliminated 26 Khawarij on July 6 and 7. 

Addressing a news conference in Rawalpindi on July 8, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry had spoken about the recent upsurge in violent incidents in Balochistan.

Speaking about who was behind the attacks, Lt Gen Chaudhry had named India and “those forces with India who cannot tolerate Pakistan’s respect, prosperity and stability”.

He reiterated the state’s stance that the elements were using “the territories under the control of this illegitimate Afghan Taliban regime as a base of operation”.

The DG ISPR asserted that the “majority” of the terrorists engaged and killed “turn out to be Afghan”. 

He said that three of the four attackers in the June 27 attack on a Rangers camp in Karachi were Afghan. “The whole planning, equipping, everything was done from Afghanistan.”

The DG ISPR said there “is a scheme, mastermind, intent, logistics, operational sequence behind it”.

Stressing that Afghanistan was “providing the manpower for it”, he said, “You do not want Balochistan to prosper? Because you know that Balochistan is Pakistan’s lifeline and its pride. Because you know that Balochistan’s prosperity is a reality that no one can change.

“You cannot digest it? You cannot accept it? You have a problem with the pipeline supplying water to Quetta? You have a problem with everything that is for the people of Balochistan.”

“If that be it, then we are absolutely clear,” he said, affirming that the armed forces — under the leadership of Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir and the guidance of the government — had the resolve and clarity on “what to do with them”.
“We will hunt you, and we will hurt you everywhere,” the DG ISPR declared.

Mohsin Naqvi pays tributes to security forces

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid glowing tributes to law-enforcement agencies (LEA), including the Pakistan Army, Frontier Constabulary (FC), and police, for sending nine terrorists to hell during Operation Shaban in Balochistan.

In a message, Mohsin Naqvi saluted the courage and professionalism of security forces for foiling the nefarious designs of the enemy. 

Mohsin Naqvi said that “our brave security forces sacrificed their lives for peace in Balochistan and we will not forget their sacrifices.”

He said that all these terrorists are a burden on our nation, and we have to cut their routes, and they will find no place to hide themselves.
