Two rape accused face swift retribution in Narowal

Two youth accused of abducting and sexually assaulting an 18-year-old girl in Narowal have been arrested after sustaining serious injuries while attempting to flee the scene, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.

According to the  police, the incident took place on Manak Road in Narowal, where the teen girl was abducted before being subjected to a gang rape by two suspects. 

The Narowal police confirmed that the accused have been identified as Umair and Zeeshan.

Police authorities said the suspects were injured while escaping from the room. 

One of the men reportedly suffered a fractured leg, while the other sustained a serious knee injury after colliding with a water turbine during their attempted escape.

The victim was transferred to the Narowal's District Headquarters (DHQs) Hospital in critical condition, where she is receiving medical treatment.

Police registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s mother and subsequently arrested both suspects.

The accused were also shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment due to the injuries sustained during the escape attempt.

Law enforcement officials said an investigation is under way and evidence is being collected to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The victim has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to ensure justice and take strict action against those responsible.
